Education/Experience
• Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with an emphasis on human services.
• Experience managing employees and volunteers.
Skills
• Ability to work with computers (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to manage a budget
• Ability to write and deliver informative speeches and presentations to the community, public groups, and the Board of Directors.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from consumers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to write and deliver articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate National Family Caregiver Support and Evidence Based Programs.
• Provide information to the County about the needs of elderly people and the services available to them.
• Assist local service agencies in organizing, developing, modifying, and expanding programming, accessible, appropriate and acceptable aid to older citizens.
• Provide information and personal support to individual older adults and their families so they may take advantage of opportunities available to them.
• Manage programs to enable older adults to fully contribute to the welfare of the community.
• Assist in developing the County Aging Unit Plan.
• Work cooperatively with Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWARR).
• Attend Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWARR) and other program specific meetings as needed.
• Assisting in handling media for the agency.
• Assist in coordinating yearly events (Spring Fling, Senior Picnic, Christmas Tea, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.

PART TIME SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
**You would work one week on and one week off.  40 hours per week. Monday through Friday on the day shift.
$15.57 per hour.

Description

The Specialized Transport Driver reports to the Transportation Coordinator and is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of clients to and from various locations. The Driver must be able to safely handle wheelchairs and clients with special needs while also maintaining a schedule for drop off and pick up times.  

Education/Experience

  • Must have a valid Driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must receive training on how to safely handle wheelchairs and other walking aides.

Skills

  • Ability to manage a schedule.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the Twin Ports and Douglas County.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and supervisors.
  • Ability to work with walking aides and wheelchairs and assist with clients getting in and out of the vehicle.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

  • Complete daily paperwork, vehicle checks and other duties as directed by Transportation Coordinator.

Meals on Wheels Delivery Driver (SUBSTITUTE)

 

Description

***THIS IS A SUBSTITUTE POSITION*** The Nutrition Driver reports to the Nutrition Director and is responsible for the timely delivery of meals to seniors (Meals on Wheels) throughout the community. Monday through Friday from approximately 10am -12:15pm with the understanding that there may be times that you start before 10am or work after 12:15pm depending on the needs of the route/agency.  Will work approximately 11 hours and 15 minutes per week.  $14.70 per hour.

***This is an on call/fill-in position to assist when the regular Driver is out***

Education/Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

Skills

  • Ability to drive a vehicle (provided).
  • Ability to learn a route and follow directions.
  • Ability to minimally interact with seniors in their homes while delivering meals.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and coworkers.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain an accurate log and collect money from participants as needed.
