Serving Douglas County Older Adults, Individuals with Disabilities, and Caregivers for Over 40 Years

Senior Connections is Douglas County’s designated Aging Unit, proudly serving adults ages 60 and older throughout the community for over 40 years. Located within the Lew Martin Senior Center in Superior, Wisconsin, Senior Connections provides trusted programs, services, resources, and support to help individuals remain active, informed, independent, and connected.

As the County Aging Unit, Senior Connections provides services and programs to individuals ages 60 and older as established under the Older Americans Act. Additionally, Senior Connections provides Specialized Transportation services to individuals ages 55 and older, as well as individuals with disabilities, helping community members maintain independence and access the resources they need.

The purpose of Senior Connections is to provide advocacy, information, and a broad range of services that promote dignity, self-reliance, and quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabilities. We are committed to helping individuals remain independent for as long as possible while responding to the changing needs of our community.

Our programs and services include:

- Specialized Transportation for individuals ages 55+ and people with disabilities, call & ask for Babbette to schedule a ride!

- Nutritious On-Site meals and Meals on Wheels for adults ages 60+, please call & ask for Karen to learn more!

- Elder Benefit Specialist services, call & ask for Laura to set up an appointment!

- (Temporally Unavailable) Family Caregiver Support Program

- Live Independently Care Closet (Previously known as the Mobility Equipment Loan Closet)

- Prevention programs and wellness activities
