As the County Aging Unit, Senior Connections provides services and programs to individuals aged 60 and over, as mandated by the Older Americans Act. Additionally, Senior Connections provides Specialized Transportation to individuals aged 55 and over and persons with disabilities.
Services are provided regardless of race, color, creed, ethnic origin, religion, or level of income. The purpose of Senior Connections is to provide advocacy and a broad array of services and information, to allow older persons to remain self-sufficient as long as possible. Individual dignity and self-reliance is promoted in all areas of our programs. Senior Connections will continually assess the needs of the elderly within the county and utilize available resources to provide needed services. Where possible, our programs will be targeted to serve the frail elderly, minorities, and persons with the greatest social and economic need.
Senior Connections prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, disability, religion, familial status and national origin. Senior Connections identifies any need for services to those with limited English proficiency (LEP) and has developed and implemented a system to provide services so LEP persons can have meaningful access to services. No qualified individual with a disability shall, on the basis of disability be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of services, programs or activities of Senior Connections, or be subjected to discrimination by Senior Connections.
